Flowers, wigs and more madness!

So as well as the big ASOS Marketplace launch I did another street style shoot with the incredible Kaily O'Brien. You may recognize her from the sneaky shots on my main blog that I posted a few weeks ago! This time I was shooting 'Girly' and 'Sci Fi' trends so I got to play with over sized flowers and neon pink wigs! I had such a fun day and really enjoyed styling up these outfits, and it was all made better by the sun putting his hat on and shining for us, so our shots looks nice and summery! I'm in the process of listing these looks now and writing blog posts for the boutique blog to go with all the trends so keep checking back for these! Here are a few shots from these 2 looks...

Week 3 in Wonderland!

This week it's been all go with the ASOS Marketplace boutique, trying to get everything sorted for the big launch! We had our second street style shoot with my friend Rosie, who played the Mad Hatter in our big Alice Shoot which went great. We went for our own take on the bright comic book colours that are popping up everywhere at the moment and a homage to a big Movie coming out soon!. Keep an eye out for these trends launching on the boutique and on the blog! I've spent all week working on these photos and listing them online so i'm super excited to finally be launching the 'What Alice Found' Boutique TOMORROW!!!

Week Number 2!

It's odd. It's crazy to think I've been at 'What Alice Found' for two weeks already, it's going super quick, but then its also crazy to think it's only been two weeks as I feel like I've always been there as I'm having such a great time and feel so comfortable with everything and everyone. Since the photo shoot we've been excitedly waiting for the final shots and they finally arrived this week! I'm not gonna let you see them just yet ;) as I want them to be a big surprise on the ASOS Marketplace Boutique but I'll tell you that I am sooo happy with them, they look greaatt! Everyone involved should be really pleased with what we achieved, I certainly am!
So this week I've spent my time thinking about launching the ASOS Boutique. Setting up smaller street style shoots for the garments we will be selling, measuring them and writing up product descriptions. This has allowed me to get a lot more familiar with the shops stock and the different styles / era's of clothes they sell. The more I see, the more my interest in vintage fashion grows. The clothes are just so much more fun and unique than most of what we see nowadays! We've decided that within the Marketplace Shop, we're going to break it down into trend groups, styling outfits to fit within these then creating moodboards and mini scenes to accompany them on the ASOS blog and  Fashion Finder. If you haven't already heard of ASOS Fashion Finder then definitely go and take a lot, it's a great way to create outfit/styling ideas. This week I did a shoot with Emily, one of the models from the big Alice Shoot last week, looking at the growing 'Grunge Trend' but adding a vintage twist. Keep a look out for these and more images being uploaded onto ASOS soon, it's all very exciting!!!

As well as all of this, I've been able to write a few more exciting dates into my diary this week including vintage fairs and festivals which I am sooo excited for already! You can be sure you will be hearing / seeing a lot more about those when they come closer, but for now, here's a few of the street shots I mentioned.

A Day At The Theater

This week was a very exciting week at What Alice Found! We wandered over to the beautiful Shelly Theatre for an incredible Alice inspired photo-shoot. We had a rather large team which was great, being surrounded by so many different creative minds, from photographers, a videographer, a makeup artist, 3 models and stylists! We took along with us lots of fun props to play with along with a great variety of vintage outfits which we had put together to fit the Alice In Wonderland characters but in our own quirky, vintage style.
The location was absolutely incredible! With peeling paint, bare floorboards, an amazing twisting, wooden staircase…I could go on! The derelict, distressed building was the perfect backdrop for our Alice Shoot! The whole team worked really hard throughout the day and it all ran incredibly smoothly and we managed to get a whole load of incredible shots, now how do we possibly choose our favourites!?
Now don’t worry, the photos will be ready soon for you to see on our brand new ASOS Market Place boutique but here’s a few sneaky behind the scenes shots to keep you going.

Fashion Kid

So this week I started my internship at 'What Alice Found' in Boscombe. If you love vintage or like me are an Alice in Wonderland Fanatic then definitively take a look at the website. Even better, if you're around the Bournemouth area pop in because the shop is soooo cute! As you walk through the door of the little white boutique, you almost feel like you are Alice stepping through the looking glass as you are instantly surrounded by Wonderland Memorabilia. I will be keeping a diary of my adventures here in Wonderland so keep a look out to see what I get up to! Here's a few little shots of the shop too, come back soon! VJ xxx
